On June 3-5, 2009 Kiwiplan customers from all across Europe, the United States, and the Middle East gathered in Brussels, Belgium for the annual Kiwiplan User’s Group meeting. With corrugating and packaging plants around the globe facing difficult economic times, much of the discussion focused on cost control measures attainable with the use of Kiwiplan solutions.
Kiwiplan was pleased to unveil for customers attending the meeting the latest advances in software technology. Sessions featured the Kiwiplan revisions for October 2009 which will include enhancements to:• Reduce labor costs• Minimize material costs• Decrease associated running costs • Provide Key Performance Indicator dashboards
Other topics of significant interest were post-production costing, machine scheduling techniques to optimize throughput, Kiwiplan playbooks for managing the ever-changing business environment, Data Analysis Reporting Tool (DART) aimed at continuous improvement, and the completion of the transition to .Net technologies.
Of special note were presentations by guest speakers Brenda Schreiber from RockTenn who presented her insights on successful application of Kiwplan in the Laminator industry and Predrag Lekic from Duropack who presented lessons learned by the Duropack installation team. Among the successes Predrag highlighted were the installation of three order-to-cash-solutions in three different counties (Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) in one year.
The meeting was a great success, thanks to all the participants and their contributions. Kiwiplan looks forward to sharing more success stories at the next meeting.
